Dr. James George, MD

James George, MD is a board certified gastroenterologist practicing in Manhattan. He graduated with Phi Beta Kappa academic honors from State University of New York Binghamton, in 1984. He completed medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society based on his academic excellence. His Internal Medicine training was at the University of California, San Francisco, and his Gastroenterology fellowship was completed at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

He has received the Mount Sinai Fellowship Teaching Award in recognition of his training of Gastroenterology fellows at Mount Sinai. He has published numerous articles on the management of the inflammatory bowel diseases, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and has very extensive experience in the management of these conditions with many referrals from gastroenterologist colleagues. He has a specific interest in the role of diet in these diseases. In addition, he is widely known for his endoscopic expertise in performing colonoscopy and complex polyp removal for colon cancer screening. He has repeatedly been awarded the Best Doctors and Super Doctors awards based on the recommendations of his peers.
